Obesity was long been known as a negative factor for improving average life span. Therefore, a therapeutic approach using natural compounds has been proposed as a novel strategy for preventing metabolic disorders. In the present study, we investigated the anti‐obesity effect of Capsicum L. var. annuum and Capsicum annuum L. species water extract supplemented to 3T3‐L1 cells. The gene expression of lipid metabolism‐related enzymes, such as lipoprotein lipase (LPL), hormone sensitive lipase (HSL), acyl CoA synthetase(ACS) and carnitine palmitoyltransferase‐1(CPT‐1), were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR).
