Retaining, supporting and promoting women are vital to research progress and science education. From grade to graduate school, from the bench to the boardroom, mentoring and role models can make critical differences to the achievements of women scientists. This seminar will highlight and summarize the strategies and programs that have proven successful in ensuring that women continue to choose, stay and excel in science. Examples include modes of mentoring such as mentornet, programs such as NSF ADVANCE and Women in Learning and Leadership (WILL), as well as organizations such as the Association for Women in Science (WISE).
