After successfully completing the Ph.D. dissertation and perhaps one postdoctoral training period, how does one get established in a research career? This talk will describe, contrast and compare the various Research Career Development Awards available through NIH. We will cover "F" awards, "K" awards and early career stage "R" awards. The audience should then have a clearer understanding of the various funding mechanisms.
