This study conducted job analysis of school foodservice dietitian through the perceived job importance and level of performance in Gwangju and Jeonnam areas. Of 646 questionnaires, 244 cases were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 and frequency, t‐test, ANOVA were performed. We compared the recognition of job performance and the perceived job importance by the school classification. There are significant differences between the recognition of job performance and perceived job importance among elementary school (p<0.0001) and middle school (p<0.0001), but not in high school dietitians in the area of nutrition management. Elementary school dietitians recognized significantly higher importance of purchasing management than their actual job performances (p<0.0001). All level of school dietitians recognized the importance of nutrition education, however, the mean value of actual job performance were lower compared to the other duties of school dietitians (p<0.0001). These results suggest that school dietitians recognized the importance of their duties, however the actual performances are not always match the perceived importance of tasks.
