We have developed a Chemical Biology Mutual Mentoring Group as a team‐building initiative to bridge the gap between the physical and life sciences. While many of the current advances in the natural sciences are being made in interdisciplinary areas, faculty are often still hired by traditional departments leading to professional isolation. In the absence of mentoring, pre‐tenure faculty can be pushed away from interdisciplinary research and teaching. We have begun to build a network of mentors to support the development of research and teaching in this chemical biology interface.
