The purpose of this study is to investigate whether dietary behaviors are related with the level of stress among Korean adolescents. The subjects were 58,224 students (29,874 boys and 28,350 girls) of 7 to 11 graders enrolled in middle and high schools, who responded to the '2005 Youth Risk Behavior Survey Data in Korea'. Mean age was 14.8±1.6 years. Data on general characteristic, dietary behaviors and the level of stress were collected a web‐based self‐administered questionnaire. A group of students who were under heavy stress revealed several features. In this group, both boys and girls, the higher level of stress became, the more students tend to have snack (p<=0.001) and girls drink carbonated beverage more frequently (p<=0.001). Students in this group have less breakfast (p<=0.001) and less frequently consume vegetable and fruits (p<=0.001) than other students under low level of stress. Consequently, this investigation showed that heavily‐stressed students tend to have unhealthy dietary behaviors. For better dietary behavior of adolescents, further researches to reduce stress of adolescents are needed. (This work was supported by the Brain Korea 21 Project in 2008.)
