This study performed to examine immunostimulating activities and anti‐stress activities of hot water extract from Pinus densiflora Sieb(PD). It is known that psychological stress affect the relationship between stress and immunological functions. This relationship has been revealed through complex interaction among the neurological, endocrine and immological systems. The immunostimulating activities were investigated with MTT assay by using human T cells, B cells and NK cells. The growth of human T cell was increased up to 109% in adding 100mg/l of hot water extract from PD and B cell was increased up to 107% at all concentrations. NK cell activation was significantly improved up 1.2 times higher than the case of control group. Anti‐stress effect of PD extracts was estimated by measuring blood chemical value and the internal organs weight in ICR mice. The forced swimming(5min) was given to animals as a stress factor. By these results, further studies on the product development using PD are required. This Research was financed by Seoul Research and Business Development Program(No. 10582), Republic of Korea.
