The effect of an oil extract of the plant Eupatorium aschenbornianum was evaluated in Wistar rats by using (treated group) or not (control group) a new model of wound healing in rats in which the participation of the muscle panniculos carnosus is avoided by removing it. In brief, we made a circular incision of 1.5 cm , remove the panniculos carnosus and stich the skin with the latisimus dorsis. A imagen‐j method was employed to evaluate the evolution of the healing. The results show that the time needed for complete healing was 28‐35 days in the control group whereas in the group treated with 2 and 5% extracts of the plant the time needed was 15‐20 days (about 30‐40% less). We conclude that the extrac is useful in shortening the period of wound healing.
