A multi‐purpose, modular programmable fermentation system has been developed for research applications involving bacteria, fungal and other food science research agents. Manufactured by Major Science, the fermentation system offers great versatility with vessel ranges from 0.5L to 10L. The MS‐FS series offers a modular option. This allows the researcher to choose only the necessary components with full ability to upgrade later. The controller allows constant monitoring of the media conditions in the various applications relevant to food science, where fermentation is involved. A pH probe enables automatic control of either acid or base media condition via peristaltic pumps and the DO probe controls the aerator. Additional ports are available to extend and customize control of the media environment. The small footprint, modular and upgradeable design, and proven high reproducibility demonstrated by this system make it an ideal choice for various food science research applications.
