Characterization of protein intakes in older adults in the US

We analyzed data from NHANES 2003‐04 to determine adequacy of protein; contribution of animal foods/ingredients to protein; and meal patterns of protein intake in older adults. SAS, CSIDE, and SUDAAN software were used for data management/analyses. Results showed ~9 or 11% of women 65+ but fewer men consumed 50% had intakes
