The present study was undertaken to investigate the protective effects of vitamin E against atrazine induced genotoxicity. Three different methods‐gel electrophoresis, comet assay and micronucleus test were used to assess the genotoxicity induced by atrazine and protective effects of vitamin E. Atrazine (300mg/kg bw) treatment was given to male rats for 7, 14 and 21 days. Increase in micronuclei frequency was observed in liver cell along with increase in tail length of comets were clear indications of genotoxicity induced by atrazine. The results showed that atrazine in combination with vitamin E (100 mg/kg bw) showed significant decrease in genotoxicity induced by atrazine.
