As universities across the US become increasingly concerned about copyright infringements, faculty who have traditionally drawn rather freely from existing resources are being asked to review how they use copyrighted materials in teaching. In order to improve copyright compliance, the Medical University of South Carolina has adopted a university‐wide policy guiding the faculty in terms of US Copyright Law and has promoted strategies to help with its implementation. The strategies included organizing several educational sessions by both copyright lawyers and faculty members to promote these changes. The lawyers’ presentations focused on the legal texts whereas the faculty presentations discussed short and long term strategies about how to practically implement these recommendations in daily teaching activities. An MUSC website was created to provide support for these endeavors. Specifics about MUSC copyright resources and strategies will be shared with the audience during this talk.
