The FAWMC is a four‐day workshop designed for fitness professionals (FP) with the following objectives: 1) to enhance FP comprehension of the anatomy and pathophysiology underlying common musculoskeletal injuries, and 2) to increase FP utilization of this knowledge to work more effectively with clients. Research collected from subjective surveys in 2006 indicated achievement of stated objectives, but was culled from a small sample size. In 2007, we distributed another survey to all 27 participants and doubled our sample size (n=15). Seven of the survey questions used a 5‐point Likert rating scale to measure the outcome of our objectives. Each question elicited a positive response, with the majority of participants responding “Strongly Agree” (“SA”) and the remainder responding “Somewhat Agree.” For example, to a question that subjectively gauged comprehension, 93% of respondents replied “SA;” to a question that subjectively gauged ability to apply material taught during the course, 73% of respondents replied “SA.” As demonstrated by these responses, the workshop again achieved its stated goals. Given the survey's subjective nature, however, future evaluations will contain objective measures such as a pre‐ and post‐test to assess comprehension, along with a 6‐month follow‐up study to analyze utilization.
