Consulting can be an exhilarating and mind‐expanding experience. On the positive side, it has allowed me to share the dreams and adventures of a wide cross‐section of very interesting people and their companies ‐‐ a parallel, as opposed to serial, entrepreneurship if you will. On the negative side, the job can be really hard on the ego. That great advice you enthusiastically provide does not have to be acted upon; worse yet, it may be misinterpreted, used piecemeal or simply dissipated. When it all works, however, the leverage you can muster in order to change things for the better, can take your breath away.
