This study examines the benefit of using mixed reality to visualize amino acid molecules for students in introductory biochemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. A Novel Microsoft HoloLens application that tests understanding of amino acid structures was developed. The application was made accessible to students by making it compatible with multiple platforms in addition to Universal Windows Platform; these platforms include Android and iOS as well as PC, Mac, and Linux stand‐alone. This was done using Unity3D with coding in C#. The success of application development and implementation in the classroom was tested by students of Biochemistry.
