Objective To study the relationship between Alzheimer's disease(AD) and vascular risk factors. Methods 53 patients with AD were selected as the case group and 40 elderly patients with normal cognitive function as the control group. The distribution of hypertension, diabetes, abnormal lipid metabolism, cerebral infarction, carotid artery stenosis and plaque, carotid artery intimal thickening, intracranial blood flow velocity slowing, smoking and drinking history were analyzed. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between above factors and AD. Results Hypertension, diabetes, blood lipid metabolism, cerebral infarction, neck vascular stenosis and plaque, carotid artery intimal thickening, slow cerebral artery blood flow between AD and the control group with significant difference (P < 0.05), while there was no significant differences in moking and drinking alcohol history between AD case group and the control group (P > 0.05). Conclusion AD is closely related to vascular risk factors. Hypertension, diabetes, abnormal lipid metabolism, cerebral infarction, carotid artery stenosis and plaque, carotid artery intimal thickening and intracranial blood flow velocity are independent risk factors for AD.
