New complexes of 2‐Oxo‐2H‐Chromene‐3‐Carbonitrile with cobalt [Co (II)], nickel [Ni(II)], iron [Fe(III)] and chromium [Cr(III)] were synthesized. The structure of synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H‐NMR and elemental analysis. The synthesized ligand and metal complexes were screened for microbiological activity against Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus , and Klebsiella pseumoniae. The complexes have enhanced activity compared to the 4‐Hydroxy‐2‐Oxo‐2H‐Chromene‐3‐Carbonitrile itself as ligand. Support or Funding Information Support for this study was provided by the Ministry for Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosovo.
