The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of natural product (epigallocatechin gallate, coleus forskohlii, yerba matte, betula alba) in human. Obese women premenopausal (BMI > 30) were randomized into active or placebo. Patients received low calorie diet 1100 kcal/day, during three months. Body weight, body fat decreased by 7.75 kg, 6.24 kg and 5.25 kg, 3.9 kg in the active and placebo group respectively. Waist and neck circumference decreased by 10.15 cm, 1.42 cm and 7.62 cm, 0.82 cm respectively. Neck and waist circumference correlated to each other and to body weight, plasma lipids and blood pressure. The decrease of neck circumference similarly to the decrease of waist circumference correlated with the decrease of body weight and, the decrease of blood pressure and metabolic variables. Total cholesterol decreased by 17.2 mg/dl in the Cuur and by 4.3 mg/dl in the placebo group, systolic blood pressure 8.5 mm Hg and 3.83 mm Hg respectively. Fat excretion in stools decreased by 52% in the active group. Synergistically acting herb extract can accelerate body weight and body fat loss during low calorie diet. Neck circumference can be treated as anthropometric measure related to body weight and metabolic factors associated with obesity.
