SOURCE/DESCRIPTION: A 3.3 kb Hindi 11 fragment from cosmid YNZ86 was subcloned into the Hindlll site of pUClB. POLYMORPHISM: Mspl identifies a two allele polymorphism (Ml : 2.0 kb, M2 : 1.9 kb) with constant bands at 2.6 and 1.7 kb. PvuII also identifies a two allele polymorphism (PI : 1.1 kb, P2 : 0.8 kb) with a constant band at 1.5 kb, but this observation has not been verified by pedigree studies. CHROMOSOMAL LOCALIZATION: pYNZ86.1 has been assigned to chromosome 3 by multipoint linkage analysis(l) with loci (DNF15S2, D3S4) known to span this region(2,3>. MENDELIAN INHERITANCE: Co-dominant segregation of the Mspl RFLP was observed in 40 three generation families. OTHER COMMENTS: RFLPs were observed under normal hybridization and wash stringencies.
