A 2-year study was conducted to evaluate relative efficacy of 3 commercial aphicides on non-bearing trees. Knock-down and residual characteristics of each aphicide were observed. Four, single-tree replicates were used in a randomized complete block design. Applications were made to the point of drip using a tractor-mounted hydraulic single nozzle sprayer delivering 250 psi. Infested terminals were flagged for use in making post-application counts. Dates of applications were 6 Jun and 14 Jun ‘85, 19 Jun ‘86. Trees avg 7 ft. All treatments included Captan 50W at 2 lb/100 gal. Selected terminals were used to evaluate treatments by counting live aphids at 2 and 10 days (1985) and 2 and 22 days (1986) post treatment.
