The purpose of this study is to make a series of finite element analyses of the iliac bone of a pedestrian involved in a car crash. The analyses are of a static type. The conditions for the analyses were chosen as to reflect the reality of the situation. The forces which acted on the iliac bone have been experimentally determined. In this study, the authors want to highlight the benefit of the finite element analysis in the road accidentology field.
