
Burnout resistance assessment of air tuyere in blast furnace

To assess the burn resistance air tuyere in blast furnace using the finite element method (axisymmetric problem), DEFORM-2D software was used. Ceramics with a slurry coating applied to it was used as thermal insulation for protection against air tuyere burnout. The resistance to air tuyere burnout with the selected thermal insulation on its outer surface is estimated by calculating the stress intensity.
