The article deals with certain design trends that characterize the humanistic approach to environmental design, as well as ways of interaction between urban planners and designers within this approach. The theoretical basis of the article is the results of research by specialists in Russia and abroad of social urban planning conflicts that arise in the process of creating public spaces and their use by various groups of residents, including those with limited mobility.
