Preface

VIII International Scientific Conference Transport of Siberia – 2020 took place in Novosibirsk, Russia on May 22-27, 2020. The conference was organized by Siberian Transport University, Novosibirsk, Russia. Leading experts in the field of transport met in Novosibirsk to exchange the latest scientific achievements, strengthen the academic relations, create favorable conditions for collaborative research and implement collaborative projects in the field of transport. Within the conference, the participants discussed a wide range of issues related to Design and Construction of Transport Infrastructure Objects, Freight and Logistics, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Materials in Transportation Industry, Transport and the Rural Economy, Transport Planning and Management, Transportation and Economic Development, Transportation and Society, Vehicle Systems Engineering. The participants and guests of the conference visited university labs and got acquainted with the advanced teaching methods and educational materials applied by experts in the field of transport. The authors submitted 600 qualified papers to Transport of Siberia – 2020 conference. Of these, 250 papers were accepted. All papers passed a strict scientific, technical and grammatical review. Doctor of Science, Professor Aleksey Manakov was a guest editor of this collection of conference proceedings. Within the framework of the review, all papers were thoroughly checked for the following attributes: 1) for compliance with the subject of the conference. 2) for plagiarism. Acceptable minimum of originality was 90%. 3) for acceptable English language. All papers were reviewed by a native speaker. 4) at the same time, papers were checked by a technical proofreader for quality of images, absence of Cyrillic, etc.). The conference included several workshops and plenary sessions dedicated to the issues of road transportation, railroad transport, road engineering complex, air transport, public transport, transport and logistics complex, road safety, etc. The members of our organizing committee warmly thank the team of IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering for the help given to us within the whole process of preparing the proceedings of our conference for publication.
