The paper discusses the matter of reliability of the windings of the asynchronous traction motors being part of the urban electrically powered vehicles, contains the characteristic curve of the stator failure-free operation probability, and refers to experimental data on the failure rate. The results can be used both at the design stage of asynchronous traction motors and while in operation to optimize the preventive maintenance.
