Standard contains the full set of requirements to the product, its production, control and acceptance. A customer and a manufacturer assess one and the same object of standardization in different ways. The function-target analysis makes it possible to find out the relation between the customer functions and the object properties. Application of this developed method results in a network graph reflecting the connections between the main useful function and individual functions as well as the properties providing these functions. The developed approach of assessment of similarity of the customer and the manufacturer positions in the process of development of standard technical requirements is based on the mathematical description of an S-curve. The proposed method makes it possible to take into account the peculiarities for setting norms in standards of metal products.
