Undoped and Ni-doped Cobalt oxide thin films (Co 3 O 4 :Ni) with doping percentage (3, 6, and 9%) have been prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis technique on glass substrates at (400 °C). The structural, surface morphology and optical properties were studied. XRD results showed that all the films were polycrystalline and had a cubic structure with preferred orientation (111) plane for all doping. The AFM images appear to be smooth and homogenous films. The optical properties showed that the transmittance decreased by increasing the percentage of Ni, and the direct optical band gap decreased from (2.53 eV) to (2.32 eV) for undoped Co 3 O 4 with increasing the doping percentage to (9%).
