This article is the result of the research: The reading plan at the Antonio de Arévalo University Foundation: a strategy to support the academic performance of students entering the first semester of higher education. This research is part of the linguistic, psycholinguistic and sociocultural approach of Daniel Cassany achieving results from a diagnostic test of reading levels and is based on three moments; the preparation, execution and evaluation of the project to the group under study. The conclusions indicate that the course oriented from this approach manages to develop reading and writing levels that allowed them to better understand the other subjects.
