Preface

Welcome to the 5th International Conference on Building Materials and Construction, ICBMC 2020, held in Tokyo, Japan from February 26 to 29, 2020. ICBMC 2020 is at providing an avenue for academicians, students, researchers, professionals, engineers, and scientists from the academia and industry to share their research findings for further collaborative research in their respective areas. The theme of the conference is “Innovations in Building Materials and Construction”. proceedings of ICBMC 2020 consist of 27 selected papers from the conference which were submitted from universities, research institutes and industries. All papers were subjected to peer-review by conference committee members and international reviewers. The papers were selected based on their quality and relevancy to the conference. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Conference Technical Committee for their great contribution in organizing this conference. Moreover, I wish to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to plenary speakers, Prof. Nuno Dinis Cortiços from Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, Prof. Kyoung Sun Moon Yale University, USA, and Prof. Ho Chee Cheong, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia, for sharing their knowledge with the rest of the participants. I hope the experience of ICBMC 2020 was intellectually stimulating to all participants. Last, I hope that the contents of this volume will prove useful for researchers and practitioners in developing and applying new technologies and processes in the field of building materials and construction.
