The problem statement, qualitative analysis and main methodological approaches to the interaction of stations for the distribution of sorting and transfer work in port railway junctions with objects of railway infrastructure and rolling stock of various types are presented. The search for a solution provides for finding the optimal variant of interaction on the basis of combinatorial-optimization analysis using economic criteria, technical and technological parameters of stations and a plan of the formation of non-route gears in the area of pre-port transport hubs.
