The article presents the planning structures analysis method of urbanized areas base on the geometric indicators of graph theory. For research, we developed a software package written in the Python programming language. The methodology of the analysis consists of identifying areas with a planning structure of a certain type in urban area and evaluating the selected area according to several calculated indicators. According to the results of the study, hypotheses were made about the impact of the type of planning structure on the level of traffic load of the city’s road network.
