In order to evaluate the effects of nuclear radiation on several typical materials, the mathematical models of radiation damage characteristics of three materials are established based on the analysis of radiation environment and damage forms. In order to simplify the calculation, the principles and indexes of damage estimation are determined according to the radiation damage process of three typical materials: polymer materials, high-energy explosives, and metal materials. The results show that the pure nuclear radiation environment has no obvious effect on the properties of three typical materials. It lays a theoretical foundation for radiation hardening of devices.
