According to the structural characteristics of the oil pipeline, repair cutting quality requirements, designed a special cutting wire saw machine. The structural characteristics of the oil pipeline and the variation of the area of the steel pipe section and the slit width of the oil pipeline are analyzed. The structural form, working principle and technical parameters of the hydraulic power system of the wire saw machine are determined. The wire sawing machine cut the oil pipeline and tested it, and established a mathematical model of the cutting force, two correspondences were obtained, one of which is the beading cutting force and wear rate of the wire saw machine, and the other is the feed speed and cutting speed. Engineering practice has proved that the use of wire saws to cut oil pipelines is an effective cutting method, both cutting quality and cutting efficiency are superior to other cutting methods.
