This collection contains reports of the VIII International Conference “Nanomaterials and Technologies” (August 24–28, 2019, Ulan-Ude - Lake Baikal). The collection includes reports of scientists from famous scientific centers. The scientific program of the conference included questions of the formation, identification of the mechanisms of formation and characterization of various nanoscale objects using electron beams, laser irradiation, the sol-gel method, in an electric discharge plasma in a gas. The reports present studies of the structure and properties of nanoparticles, nanotubes, and other nano-objects created by the mentioned methods. As a result of modification of substances and materials by nanoobjects, their properties, physical and chemical characteristics change: mechanical, magnetic, electrophysical, catalytic, optical, viscosity. Another important area of study of nanoscale objects is their use in various compounds, materials, such as steel, liquid crystals, motor oils, microcapillary reactors, fuel cells in order to modify and improve their properties. Research in the field of nanomaterials is an interdisciplinary science, primarily based on physical and chemical methods. Therefore, the works presented in the collection in the field of physics and chemistry of the condensed state, describing the behavior of glassy systems, liquid materials, and the use of X-ray diffraction methods, become logical. The mathematical and computer modeling of materials presented in the reports is effective methods for studying complex systems, such as nano-objects, consisting of a limited number of atoms and molecules subject to computer calculation, which makes it possible not only to model possible stable structures, but also depending on their size, physical parameters - temperature, pressure and others.
