Preface

International Symposium on Advances and Innovations in Mechanical Engineering (ISAIME) is the first international symposium initiated by Badan Kerja Sama Teknik Mesin (BKSTM), Indonesian national organization on mechanical engineering. The symposium was hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universitas Trisakti, Indonesia and held on 9 – 10 October 2019 in Aston Grogol Hotel Jakarta and Trisakti campus, Jakarta, Indonesia. This symposium is to accommodate the eagerness of researchers, lecturers, and students to publish the results of their research at a reputable international seminar. BKSTM holds an annual national seminar called Seminar Nasional Tahunan Teknik Mesin (SNTTM), an annual national seminar on mechanical engineering which takes place at different BKSTM member universities. ISAIME was held in conjunction with SNTTM XVIII 2019. The theme for ISAIME is “ Advancing in Mechanical Engineering Innovations for Sustainable Development ”. The event is bringing together researchers, scientists, and engineers from academia and industry to present and exchange ideas with a focus on the advancement of mechanical engineering and technologies. The Editorial Committee members have been working very hard and patient to meet the deadline of review and to prepare the conference proceedings. The final ISAIME Program consists of 50 papers mainly on the topic of mechatronics and automation, design and optimization in mechanical and thermal system, energy conversion, advanced manufacturing, and materials engineering. The proceedings would be published in a volume by IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the committee members for their hard work, precious time and endeavor preparing for the conference. Our deepest thanks also go to the sponsors, staffs, and volunteers for their generosity and long-hours work they have given to make the conference possible. The last but not least, we would like to thank our keynote speakers and all of the authors, speakers and participants for their great contributions to the success of ISAIME 2019.
