The development status, ecological efficiency and sustainability of two industrial agglomeration systems with different economic and environmental foundations in Liaoning Province were analyzed by using emergy phase diagram analysis method. The results show that the phase diagram analysis method is more systematic and comprehensive in analyzing the development process, current situation and possible future development direction of the system. The emergy phase diagram provides an effective research tool for the emergy analysis method.
