The paper deals with experimental identification of transformer equivalent circuit parameters for simulation purpose. Dependences of transformer voltage and power from primary winding current in open circuit configuration were measured. Current to voltage characteristic of magnetic losses nonlinear resistor, flux to current characteristic of magnetic core, resistance and leakage inductance of primary and secondary windings of one-phase transformer were calculated from the measured parameters. Equivalent circuit of the transformer allowing calculation of transformer transients, such as inrush and overload, was obtained as a result.
