The article assesses the cost minimization, as well as the environmental and operational safety of urban road transport in the Russian Federation. It is clear that the most reliable and promising systems for the recovery of car braking energy are systems equipped with a pneumo-hydraulic accumulator. Pneumo-hydraulic braking energy recovery systems can reduce fuel costs and the emission of harmful substances more than 2 times.
