Any vehicle failures occur during operation. The repair of the refused knot or the unit will be costly and with time consuming. In practice the coefficient of the technical readiness of the vehicle fleet is widely used. We carry out the analysis of the reliability of the vehicle components and also the effectiveness of the diagnostic nodes and units of the Lada Kalina car taking into account the mistakes cost in the process of diagnosis. As a result of the one-year experimental studies the obtained data show the diagnosing efficiency of 428 Lada Kalina cars.
