This paper mainly describes that a signal displacement in time domain and DFT transform will produce complex exponential terms in frequency domain due to time shift. By constructing conjugate symmetry structure in frequency domain, the complex terms can fluctuate back and forth in order of 10 −16 magnitude, which is called minimal complex terms. The real functions in MATLAB can eliminate 10 −16 magnitude terms. The minimal complex term makes the real sequence approximate to the real sequence after translation in time domain.
