PREFACE The XIII International Conference on Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Control Systems (MEACS 2019) was held in Novosibirsk, Russia, on December 12–14, 2018. MEACS 2019 is an annual event dedicated to materials sciences applications, and automation and manufacturing execution in the field of mechanical engineering. The conference started in Tomsk in 2003 and now it is well known as one of the major scientific events in Siberia. The three-day Conference brought together the specialists from different countries and organizations and provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, make oral contributions and poster presentations, and initiate discussions on the topics that are of interest to the Conference participants. The selected papers of the Conference cover a wide range of technical areas and modern aspects of the integrated computer control systems in mechanical engineering, numerical simulation of applied problems, material science in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering processes and metals treatment. The Conference was hosted by Novosibirsk State University.
