The authors devised an innovative processing method, called turning with inclined tangential cutting line. To validate the concept a suitable tool was made, and experimental research was performed in order to evaluate the results from the perspective of the quality of the generated surfaces. The research program involved the processing of various materials with operating modes characterized by the same depth of cut, but different speeds and feed rates. The roughness of the obtained surfaces was measured using a high-performance electronic roughness meter. For comparison, processing under similar conditions was performed using a normal tool. This paper presents a number of experimental results and relevant conclusions supported by them. Also, some directions of further research are highlighted. The authors considered both logical and necessary outcomes after critical analysis of results and in terms of extending the parameters that characterize the designed process.
