The article aims to study the influence of oil viscosity on its density in order to obtain a statistical dependence. The influence of oil density on the rheological behavior of the liquid was established, the boundaries of the dependences were determined and the reasons for its growth anomalies were revealed. The results were obtained by generalizing the measurement of viscosity of degassed oils from various oil and gas producing provinces of Russia. They make it possible to study the physicochemical characteristics of high viscosity oils for their effective production.
