The article is devoted to the problem of reliability of functioning of onshore structures of transport systems using the example of railway ferry crossing. A brief assessment of the role ferry crossings at the current stage of the development railway and sea transport was given. The approach to the verification calculation of lifting mechanisms, suspension elements and counterweight devices of the sea span lift-transition road-railway bridge of stage I of the Vanino-Kholmsk ferry complex in the sea port of Kholmsk for the possibility of their use due to an increase in the weight of the span structure after repair was proposed and justified.
