In order to assess the nonlinear and absorbing properties of soils, the studies in typical areas of the Tbilisi territory were carried out using a powerful vibratory source SV-10/100. It was found that the nonlinearity indicators used in the previously obtained formulas for the increments of the intensity make it possible to evaluate the stress-strain state of soils (linear elasticity, nonlinear elasticity, inelasticity). The “pure” absorption, as the ratio of the normalized spectrum to the vibration frequency, is actually a loss factor. This will make it possible to widely use the easily calculated “pure” absorption index in solving many problems of engineering seismology and earthquake-resistant construction, as well as to increase the reliability of the data obtained. In particular, these indicators can be used in the energy calculation of buildings, structures, etc.
