The work considers the experience of innovation development of mining sectors of the Arctic foreign countries. Arctic countries have created quite closely linked innovation systems in which the development of infrastructure as well as investments in human capital form and maintain high levels of innovation development of mining sectors. Study and systematization of the relevant foreign experience can become the basis for the development of a state regulation strategy of innovation development of mining sectors in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
