Peer review declaration

All papers published in this volume of IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering have been peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews were conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing. • Type of peer review: Double-blind • Conference submission management system: Google form and email at ipcme@ump.edu.my • Number of submissions received: 69 • Number of submissions sent for review: 68 • Number of submissions accepted: 46 • Acceptance Rate (Number of Submissions Accepted / Number of Submissions Received X 100): 67% • Average number of reviews per paper: 2 • Total number of reviewers involved: 35 • Any additional info on review process: We received a total of 69 paper submissions for the IPCME 2021. All the papers were first screened for related topics in mechanical engineering which were divided into 7 main focus groups (advanced fluid, automotive engineering, energy sustainability, manufacturing, advanced structural integrity and vibration, structural performance materials and human engineering). Plagiarism checking was also carried for all the papers by using Turnitin software with recommended similarity index of no more than 25%. The papers were then sent to 35 reviewers with expertise in the 7 focus groups. A total of 68 papers were sent for review and 1 paper was withdrawn by the authors prior to the review process. From the first review, only 46 papers were accepted and 22 papers were rejected due to poor quality. In order to maintain the quality of the published paper, 39 papers were given major revision and only 7 papers received minor revision. All the major revision papers were then re-evaluated after the authors have submitted their revised manuscript.
