Preface

The 4 th International Conference on Engineering Sciences (4 th ICES) was held from 5 th to 6 th December, 2020 in Karbala, Iraq. The 4 th ICES was organized by the College of Engineering at University of Kerbala in collaboration with the Swinburne University. The Engineering College at University of Kerbala which was established in 2006 encompasses seven scientific engineering departments: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Petroleum, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Biomedical, and Architecture. The college aims to provide the society with skilled and qualified engineers specialized in various engineering disciplines. The conference was held virtually for about 200 guests hosted by Zoom video conference platform. On the first day of the conference, the opening session started at 9:30 am, Baghdad time and lasted for two hours. Then, eight sessions started at 12:30 pm simultaneously using breakout rooms. Each room represented specific topic and directed by the chairman of the session. On the second day of the conference, nine sessions were held at the same time. Each session started at 10:00 am Baghdad time using the same procedure of the first day. At each individual session, around ten papers were presented by the corresponding authors with the attendance of several interested researchers. Each presentation lasted for around 20 minutes.
