ISO 9001 standard provides a framework for monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation; which is an essence of the quality management system and the prime interest for stakeholders. The annual survey conducted by ISO indicate that majority of ISO 9001 Certificates were issued to “Basic Metal & Fabricated Products” industry. Not much research is carried out from the dimension of management system auditor; where evidence based approach is adopted to determine the conformance against the requirement of ISO 9001. This research study is the outcome of the audit conducted in 385 mechanical engineering companies across ten countries. Five hundred mandays of onsite audit yielded the primary data; gathered by means of Interviewing, Observation and by verifying documented information. This research started with the review of performance evaluation requirements, leading to structured audit in accordance with ISO 19001. An independent and impartial audit was conducted to determine the conformance to ISO 9001. Research data is analyzed by using Jamovi software to understand the degree of conformity to the requirements of performance evaluation.
