The paper describes a new type of photoionization gas and vapor detectors – a generator photoionization detector and a differential generator photoionization detector. In these detectors, the ion collection occurs under the influence of a contact potential difference between two electrodes that are made of different metals. The detector schemes and application are considered in detail. There are also the experimental values of the metrological characteristics are demonstrated. The authors illustrate graphical dependences of detector signals on volumetric concentrations of ammonia and ethyl mercaptan.
